Did you ever notice that you’ve got a constant inflow of questions and responses going on in your mind? Pause for a moment and consider this:
What questions do I tend to ask myself?
Life is about continually seeking answers: what should I wear today? What’s for dinner? Did I remember to respond to them? Who’s picking up Chris from school? What should I do with my life? Should I take that job? Should I start my own business? How many calories were in that croissant?
It’s in the nature of the questions that we ask ourselves that creates the drama or delight in our lives. The person who had a skiing accident and finds himself or herself paralyzed for life may ask “WHY ME?” verses another who asks “WHAT NOW?” See the difference?
The important thing is to become aware of what questions you’re asking yourself because the nature of your questions shape your destiny and guide you to your Treasure!
So pause for a moment and consider: What kind of questions am I asking myself? How am I responding to these questions? Here’s an example:
“Will I be successful?” There are only two ways to go with this question: Yes or No. These leave little option for revealing informative answers.
Instead ask: “How can I be successful at this?” The nature of this question opens up an entirely different scenario. How?
- It presumes success because “how can I be successful” implies success is already in play.
- It opens the mind to creative possibilities to explore what you can do to be successful and what you need around you to do your best work.
- It opens the inquiry into what success is to you.
These answers provide you with insights into who you are, what you need in the deepest core of your being and guide you to realize the Treasure within.
Learn to notice what questions you’re asking unconsciously. By doing so you open the door to transform limiting questions into juicy inquiries into the ever-evolving Treasure that resides in you!
