My musings on A Course In Miracles: Lesson 3:
I do not understand anything I see in this room (on this street, from the window, in this place).

What is it to “understand” anything? Understanding is based on layering a new bit of information, interpretation onto what I already seemingly know or understand. But what if I were whisked back to birth – to knowing nothing about this room, this street, this place. What if, just for today, I looked at and experienced everything with no understanding of it?
I imagine myself walking into the grocery store produce section and seeing everything without understanding it, but with wonder and curiosity. Just observing, touching, feelings, whatever I am drawn to. I wonder what meal I would prepare just from a blank slate of not understanding anything I see in this grocery store. What magnificent dish would I prepare? And then, just imagine, what if I could live in continuous not understanding-ness of what I see – free of judgment, expectations, plans, requirements?
